The Rule of Law: What Does it Mean and Why Does it Matter?
This engaging presentation will provide an overview of the historical foundations of the rule of law and its guiding principles—equality under the law, due process, and an independent judiciary. Our speakers will also discuss the essential role the rule of law plays in sustaining a healthy democracy, and the dangers posed by the gradual creation of dual systems of law.
