Women's Equality Day: Promises Yet to Keep

The League of Women Voters Dallas celebrated the 105th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment on August 26th. We gathered as a community to hear from three notable voices who tirelessly uplift communities and strive for equal rights.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our three speakers: Carissa Dutton, District 6 Councilmember, Garland City Council; Elaine Campbell, VP Voter Services, LWVD; and Avalyn Pace, President, United Nations Association USA Dallas Chapter.

Early Giving is Open!
🎉 North Texas Giving Day is coming up on September 19th, and early giving is now open! To donate, visit northtexasgivingday.org and select “League of Women Voters Dallas," or click here.

🗳️ The mission of the League of Women Voters of Dallas is to empower voters, defend democracy and protect the freedom to vote.

🌱 Your donation will help us do that work by funding educational events and other gatherings to show support for or against legislation which affects us all while encouraging all citizens to register to vote and then do so.

🤝 Whatever our background or zip code, in America we value our freedom and the right to vote.

💌 Thank you for your support.

Register Voters at the Texas Latino Pride Festival:

The Fiesta with a Purpose!

Celebrate the cultural contributions of the LGBTQ and Latine communities AND register voters. We are also talking to voters about the Texas Constitutional Amendments and why it's important to vote in these low turnout elections.

Saturday, September 13 at Reverchon Park. The event runs from 3 to 10 PM, but you can volunteer for a couple of hours and enjoy the event the rest of the time.
Multi-county VDRs are encouraged, as this event attracts people from across DFW.
If you have any questions, reach out to Norma Arratia at 214.243.5759.

Salsa y Transparencia: Dancing for Democracy

Get ready to mix the rhythm of salsa with the energy of social justice! On Tuesday, September 9th from 6:00 - 8:00pm, the Texas Civil Rights Project is bringing together community leaders, changemakers, and supporters in Dallas for Salsa y Transparencia: Dancing for Democracy – a lively evening where movement meets momentum.

Join TCRP’s President, Rochelle Garza, and other special guests for powerful conversations about the fight against extreme gerrymandering, the state of civil rights in Dallas and across Texas, and how we can take action together. We’ll be wrapping up the evening with a Salsa lesson, so make sure to stick around until the end!

Here is the link to RSVP.
