Election Consolidation Passes in Dallas!
Last month, the Dallas City Council voted unanimously to consolidate our elections, moving  local elections from May to November of odd number years! A simple election calendar reduces voter fatigue and will boost voter turnout. Dallas College also voted to move its elections to the same dates as city elections.
LWVD's Director of Volunteers Diane Tasian was quoted in a Dallas Morning News article about the recent successful bid to increase voter turnout. Read the article here.

You can download a donation request letter here, which contains information about the League and the auction, and a donation form here, which businesses or individuals can fill out in order to donate. Reach out to this year's Silent Auction Chair Kenda North, kendanorth@gmail,com, with any questions.

A Redistricting Educational Opportunity

Last week, the Supreme Court decided to allow the new Texas redistricting maps to be used for the 2026 elections, while the legal battle continues. Please help voters find who their new representatives are by showing them the listing on the Dallas County Elections website.  There are two ways to look:

  1. Under Voters > Voter Lookup > My Districts.
  2. Under Candidates > Find My District – this is a map.
