🚨 The U.S. Postal Service warns it may not postmark mail the same day it takes possession of it. As of Dec. 24th, 2025, postmarks now reflect when mail is processed, not when it’s dropped off.
⚠️ Why this matters: If you drop your mail-in ballot in a mailbox on Election Day, it may receive a postmark after Election Day and could be rejected!
🗳️ Best ways to protect your vote:
- Apply for your Vote by Mail ballot ASAP
- Mail your ballot 7-10 days early
- Take your ballot to the post office and request a manual postmark
- Use certified mail to track your ballot
- Or hand-deliver your ballot to your local elections office with ID on Election Day
🔈 Please share to help others avoid having their vote rejected. Democracy works best when everyone has the information they need to participate! |
