Step 3: Choose when and where you will vote
All Dallas County registered voters may vote in person at any Dallas County polling location, now called Vote Centers, either during Early Voting or on Election Day. In 2019 Dallas County was approved by the Secretary of State to provide Vote Centers. You can now vote near home, near work, or near your child’s school. Choose a date and time that works for you. For dates, times, and locations for the upcoming election, see the In Person at the Polls table of dates and locations on the
Voting_Overview page
The League of Women Voters highly recommends voting during Early Voting.
Step 4: Check for transportation to the polls
Be certain of your mode of transportation. Will you need a ride?
Step 5: Research candidates and issues on your ballot
About 30 days before Election Day, the League of Women Voters populates
Vote411.org and supplies libraries with printed voter guides. Both contain unedited answers from candidates to questions on relevant issues and pro/cons on propositions and bonds. If you use Vote411.org, remember to print your choices or make notes, because
no phones are allowed at the polls. Here are
Directions and Tips on using Voters Guide / Vote411.org.
Step 6: Bring these items to the polls
1. Your photo ID is required.
2. Any paper notes, printed research from Vote411 or your sample ballot with your candidates marked, because you can't use your phone at the polls.
3. Please wear your mask.
4. Dallas County Vote Centers plan to have clean styluses and stations with hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available for all voters to use, but you may bring your own. You may also bring gloves. The election workers will be wearing masks and be behind Plexiglas.
