Volunteering Opportunities

Voter registration and voter education at the flagship store for Half Price Books.

Tabling will be at the front of the store on Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 mid-August to mid-October.

Help Dallas Voting Initiative volunteers register voters at local football games. They have permission to work Duncanville, DeSoto, Lancaster, and Cedar Hill school districts and are still seeking permission to work the Dallas Independent School District.

2 volunteers are requested, at least 1 should be a VDR. It would be helpful if the VDR is certified in Dallas, Ellis, Johnson and Tarrant counties.

Tables and two chairs have been ordered for all games. 

The time for people to work is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In this way, individuals will be working before the game, and during the first hour of the game. Time for the one at the Cotton Bowl is from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

Please help us increase candidate participation by providing information and encouragement. A list of candidates and script will be provided. The last day to file for the 2026 November elections was August 17. During the two weeks after that, another Vote411 team assembles the list of candidates. The candidates will be invited to participate in Vote411 on Saturday, September 5.

You can work on this anytime between Monday, September 7 and Friday, September 25. The most intense activity will be before September 15 and the last few days before the deadline. Time slots for each day are provided so Elizabeth can see when you are available and can communicate with you.

We believe a team of 5 volunteers will make quick work of this task. We apologize that the Volunteer Opportunity says that so many volunteers are needed. The system simply multiplies every day by the number of volunteers needed.

VDRs needed to register voters at Dallas College - El Centro Campus. Voter registration will take place in Building A, the Student Center, at the Constitution Day Celebration.

Nell Watts, nellwatts51@yahoo.com, 214- 989-5968, will be leading this event. When you enter the building, check in with Security and text or call Nell. Nell will provide applications and all supplies and will arrange for application delivery after the event.

There is no free parking, but the DART line Dallas West station is only a block away. Or, if you come by bus, the Rosa Parks station is across the street.

Two volunteers wanted to greet attendees and check them on the registrant list. There will be a registration table. The event opens at 9:30. The program starts at 10 and will last until Noon.
